White water rafting is negotiating river rapids and obstacles in an inflatable rubber boat with a team of up to eight people and a river guide. Rivers are graded from easy to near-impossible according to their size, the intensity of their rapids and the difficulties that may affect rescue attempts.
Whatever your desire for adventure, it is easy to find the perfect river in Nepal. With a wide range of difficulties from a gentle 2-day float down the Seti river, to an exhilarating 10-day adventure through the rapids of the remote Tamur and Karnali, there is an experience for everyone waiting in Nepal's famous white waters. Nepal's rivers change with the seasons. Each year, after the heavy monsoon rains the waters swell, changing the run of the rivers and the nature of the rapids. New rapids are created; others become more difficult and some simply impossible to navigate. It is important to remember that some of the white water action you are about to read about could have changed by the time you come to run the river. At WWN we are constantly monitoring changes in the rivers and their rapids, so that we can always ensure the safety of our clients and plan expeditions with precision... |

Goddess Kali's River: The Kali Gandaki begins its journey high on the Tibetan plateau in the Kingdom of Mustang. Plunging its way down through the Himalayas, the river carves the deepest gorge in the world between the two 8000 m peaks Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Departs from Pokhara.

Turbulent rapids intertwine with abrupt drops as we dodge our way down intricate chutes of sparkling water. Village terraces cling precariously to the slopes and surreal snow capped peaks hang suspended above us as we drift through the world's deepest gorge. Being one of the holiest rivers in Nepal, every junction of the Kali Gandaki is dotted with cremation sites and above ground burial mounds

Originating near Mount Shisha Pangma in Tibet, the ‘River of Gold’ runs eastward through Nepal draining most of the eastern portion of the Himalayas.

From the put-in at Dolalghat to the take-out at Chatra in far-eastern Nepal, the warm water of the Sun Kosi surges, snakes and winds its way through 270km of some of Nepal's remotest countryside. At the right flow this river journey is an incredible combination of exhilarating whitewater, beautiful scenery and glorious evenings on white sandy beaches. It is truly breathtaking, and backed by its popularity is considered by many to be one of the world's 10 classic river journeys.

- Kayaking

 |
 |
|
A kayak is a small human powered boat. It typically has a covered deck, and a cockpit covered by a spray deck. It is propelled by a double bladed paddle in the hands of a sitting paddler. The kayak was used by the native Ainu, Aleut and Eskimo hunters in sub-Arctic regions of northeastern Asia, North America and Greenland. Modern kayaks come in a wide variety of designs and materials for specialized purposes.
Kayaking is usually an individual water sport. Kayaks are made from a special type of plastic and have floatation devices inserted to aid buoyancy. Kayakers move through the water with a double blade paddle, and are able to negotiate rapids and obstacles on the river.
With its wide range of rivers and wealth of challenging rapids, Nepal is the perfect destination for kayaking. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced white water kayaker keen to tackle one of our more challenging rivers, we can arrange a fun and rewarding kayaking experience for you.
Whitewater kayaks are in some cases highly maneuverable boats, usually for a single paddler, and include such specialized boats as play boats and slalom kayaks.
White water racers combine a fast, unstable lower hull portion with a flared upper hull portion to combine flat water racing speed with extra stability in big water: they are not fitted with rudders and have similar maneuverability to flat water racers.
Mount Meru Treks is continually expanding its horizons to include a select number of fully supported kayak expeditions to provide kayakers with the experience of a lifetime. We’ll run some of the best white water in the Himalayas in a style that caters specifically to the needs of kayakers with maximum river time.

Canyoning is an adventure sport that involves traveling down creeks or streams within a canyon by a variety of means including hiking, scrambling, wading, boulder hopping, rock climbing, abseiling and rappelling using safe techniques and equipments.
Abseil Canyoning action is becoming more and more popular in the world and many rivers of Nepal are ideal for Canyoning.
The Borderland Resort is surrounded with countless waterfalls and deep canyons. With highly trained instructions, climbing equipment and a sense of adventure you will descend down these beautiful but forbidding places. A new sport geared to the Ultimate sports-enthusiast, it involves abseiling, sliding, jumping and climbing down steep canyon walls along side waterfalls to deep pools.
As many true adventure seekers have discovered, the most exciting spot for swimming begins at the edge of a 45m waterfall. Once on the ground, we rest on a pebble beach within the canyon walls, then the journey out begins. We swim into narrow passages, through powerful blasts of water, past wild rock formations
Apart from all the fun and games, this sport required the guidance of an expert. Our instructors are experienced canyoneers and believe that the practice of safe canyoning necessitates the proper gear, continual vigilance and good knowledge of the aquatic environment.

|
If you want a cliff hanger experience in Nepal, the Kathmandu valley perimeter offers some hair-raising spots. There are some terrific, dizzying places for those who get their kicks from crawling up vertical cliffs. If you are not making it to some of the kingdom's high peaks, here's another opportunity to get a high. Of late, rock climbing has found increasing popularity among the tourists coming into Nepal as well as for local enthusiasts, Trekking agencies too have jumped into the bandwagon and some of them now offer the rock climbing experience.
Most of the spots are situated to the north and northwest of the valley, in the vicinity of the Nagarjun Royal forest and the shiva puri watershed and wildlife reserve. Your rock climbing trip can therefore be combined with bird watching, game watching and experiencing some of the last of the valley's wilds. Nagajuna is a verdant hill located to the northwest of the Swyambhu Stupa and believed to be the place where the famous Buddhist philosopher. Nagarjun meditated.
The cliff here is located inside the Nagarjun forest reserve suitable for both beginners and wall rats. The limestone rock face is about 12-15 m high and bears the remnants of earlier climbs. what purists would describe as "piton scarred " or a defaced face. You could always do a free climb if experienced enough or use the friendlier chocks. Another interesting rock wall is situated on the slope of Shivapuri hill to the north of Kathmandu . Drive approx. 9 km up to Budhailkantha, the shrine of the sleeping Bishnu, then walk west from the bus stop the Vishnumati stream through terraced fields and enters the Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife reserve. The granite faces here lie scattered about, and the big cliff in the center is equipped with a single route. |

Bungy Jumping is an activity that involves jumping from a tall structure while connected to a large elastic cord. The tall structure is usually a fixed object, such as a building, bridge or crane; but it is also possible to jump from a movable object, such as a hot-air-balloon or helicopter, that has the ability to hover over one spot on the ground. The thrill comes as much from the free-falling as from the rebound. Nepal's first bungy jumping site is located 160m over the wild Bhote Koshi River which is close to the Nepal-Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu can take us to the bunjy site. It can be arranged on arrival in Kathmandu. As of now, there is only one agency offering this sport. The jump at 160m was designed by one of New Zealand’s leading bungy consultants and is operated by some of the most experienced jumpers in the business. |
